A local business on 4th Avenue in Whitehorse was attacked twice in one night, RCMP to investigate
WHITEHORSE – Whitehorse RCMP are investigating after a local business on 4th Avenue in was targeted twice last week.
On August 10, 2023, at 6 p.m., RCMP received a call from Tags Food & Gas claiming that a bottle on fire was thrown through the door of the business in Whitehorse.
Then on August 11, 2023, at 2:30 a.m., police got another tip from the business describing a similar occurrence at the store. The object thrown in this instance wasn’t lit on fire. Liquid fire starter was thrown through into the store and spilled on the floor.
In both occurrences, the staff was not injured and the business was not damaged.
It is unclear if the same suspects were involved in both incidents, however, police believe that both incidents are related, and the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with dashcam footage or surveillance video from the area at the time is asked to provide it to the Whitehorse RCMP to assist in furthering the investigation.
