Whitehorse, YT – The Yukon Government is phasing out yearly health card stickers and rolling out new health care cards for eligible residents over the next year.
The new cards will feature improved security, organ donor status, and an option to add “FR” for French language care preferences.
Seniors eligible for extended health benefits and pharmacare will see “PHARMACARE ASSURANCE-MÉDICAMENTS” on their cards to streamline coverage for additional benefits.
The cards will have staggered expiration dates and be reissued every five years. Starting in 2026, they will also include a photo.
Beginning January 29th, new cards will be mailed to those with expiring health cards but current cards remain valid until their expiration date.
Yukoners can update their information by calling (867)667-5209 or visiting the Health and Social Services office at 204 Lambert Street in Whitehorse.
