WHITEHORSE, YT – Two men, who have not been named, have been arrested and are now in custody following police action on 4th Avenue in the vicinity of Black Street and Strickland Street on Monday, September 23rd.
Just before 12:30pm, the Whitehorse RCMP detachment notified the public of an increased police presence in the area as their officers were investigating a prior incident.
The RCMP had asked the public to avoid the area, but did confirm that there was no immediate risk to the public or nearby schools.
Shortly before 4pm Monday, The Whitehorse RCMP announced they had concluded their operation, and that two men had been arrested.
The nature of the incident that led to the arrests has not yet been released, and the men involved have not been named.
