WHITEHORSE, YT – Some changes are coming to Whitehorse Public Transit Routes 5, 202, 401, and the Riverdale Loop. They’re set to take effect this Thursday, January 25th.
The Riverdale Loop will now run uninterrupted throughout the day, with extra bus service added during peak times to Route 401.
Route 202 will now go from Two Mile Hill directly to 4th Avenue. When leaving Downtown, Route 202 will now follow Quartz Road to Industrial Road and will take Two Mile Hill to the Canada Games Centre.
Route 5 is reversing its direction in Marwell and Takhini. When leaving Downtown, Route 5 will now go North into Marwell and turn left onto Takhini Road heading South. On it’s way back Downtown, Route 5 will turn left on Chilkoot Way to rejoin the original route.
Range Point will no longer be serviced by Route 5, but the City says additions to Route 401 will make up for this.
The Takhini & University segment of Route 5N will have an additional late stop, with the bus set to leave City Hall at 9:40pm following its new route to Yukon University and returning to City Hall again by 10:05pm.
