Whitehorse, YT – Veteran musher Michelle Phillips claimed victory in the 2025 Yukon Quest 450-mile race, crossing the finish line at 8:42 p.m. with 10 dogs.
Phillips’ performance capped off a thrilling race, with Jessie Royer finishing in second place at 11:10 p.m., arriving with 11 dogs.
The race for fourth and fifth place was tight. Mille Porsild finished fourth at 4:04 a.m., with Anna Hennessy following closely behind in fifth at 4:11 a.m.
Benjamin Simard secured sixth place at 6:00 a.m., and Connor McMahon finished in seventh at 6:26 a.m.
Erik Oline completed the race in the red lantern position, arriving at 8:14 a.m. Oline was the first musher over the start line on Sunday.
Alex Pai won the 175-mile race, finishing in Ross River on February 4th at 12:36 a.m.
Organizers had to change the race route last minute due to safety issues. The race started in Teslin but the Dena Cho Trail section of the route between Ross River and Faro was bypassed.
The race was rerouted on the North Canol Road for 40 miles with a return to Ross River.
