WHITEHORSE, YT – Moose hunting in the Faro area has already wrapped up for 2024 season, and Conservation Officers say if you were planning on hunting there this season you should make new plans.
The Department of Environment says the local threshold of 15 harvested moose had been reached on Tuesday morning, September 17th.
Effective immediately, Game Management Subzones 4-44, 4-45, and 4-46 near Faro have been closed for moose hunting.
Department officials urge all successful hunters to complete their regular harvest reports immediately.
During the 2023 hunting season, the threshold within these subzones had been reached on September 18th.
