WHITEHORSE, YT – The Yukon Coroner’s Service has confirmed the identity of the man killed in Tuesday morning’s explosion at a property in the Riverdale subdivision.
77-year-old David William Gould died as a result of injuries he sustained when the explosion damaged his home, which was adjacent to 17 Bates Crescent. According to the Coroner’s Service, the family has requested privacy and no further updates will be made available at this time.
The Whitehorse General Hospital has confirmed well known Whitehorse lawyer Timothy Preston was admitted to hospital on Tuesday morning. Tim Preston is listed as the owner of 17 Bates Crescent, on the Yukon Land Titles Registry. His current condition is not known.
The cause of the explosion has not yet been determined, and the RCMP say their investigation is continuing.
